While you might enjoy finding an excuse to visit us here at Gapsted Wines, we appreciate there are times – sadly - that’s simply not possible.
It’s for this reason that Gapsted Wines is seeking more opportunities to come to you!
Earlier this year we decided to have a presence at a number of key food and wine events within Victoria. This included the North East Food and Wine Festival in Wodonga, The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival at Corryong, and the Good Food and Wine Show in Melbourne. These were in addition to the local events we already participate in, which includes the La Fiera Italian Festival in Myrtleford.
Each of these events provides attendees with the perfect opportunity to experience a selection of our best wines, in a relaxed and fun environment. We often bring along freshly released wines and/or vintages, giving you the chance to try something new.
The Good Food and Wine Show in Melbourne was a particular highlight. Our stand featured 11 of our wines, which more than 300 people sampled over the three-day event. If you haven’t been to this event we can highly recommend attending in 2019 – not only can you enjoy what we have to offer, but you’ll get the chance to savour a literal smorgasbord of fine foods (think cheeses, nuts, meats, fresh fish, to name a few) and beverages from across Australia.
There are also wine tasting and cooking experiences you can partake in, with well known chefs and sommeliers on hand to guide you.
We’ll aim to attend these and other similar events through the remainder of 2018 and into 2019.
You may have also noticed our first Wine Club member dinner, a five-course degustation extravaganza being held at the one-hat Miss Amelie restaurant in Wodonga on August 10. At this event members will not only get to enjoy a selection of our wines carefully paired with each delicious dish, they’ll also hear from head chef and owner David Kapay, who has worked at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in London and Gordon Ramsay’s Maze.
The aim is to have similar member dinners in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney in the coming year, allowing you to experience the best food and wines of Victoria’s High Country without having to travel too far.
Of course, you’re still welcome to find an excuse to visit us here at the winery. Not that an excuse is generally required when you consider the wealth of activities and experiences available here in Victoria's High Country, from top class skiing at Mount Hotham and Falls Creek, through to cycling along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail or just ambling through the delightful streets of Bright, Beechworth or Myrtleford.Whatever the reason for your visit, rest assured you’ll always receive a warm welcome from our dedicated Cellar Door and restaurant team.
