The wines that impressed the judges at two recent wine awards

Gapsted Wines has performed strongly at a number of recent independent wine awards, including the Rutherglen Wine Show and North East Victorian Wine Challenge.

At the North East Victorian Wine Challenge, held in September, Gapsted Wines won 16 awards from 18 entries.

Our top two ranked wines were the 2015 Ballerina Canopy Durif - GOLD with 95 points, and the 2015 Limited Release Touriga - GOLD with 95 points, and voted BEST Sweet or Fortified Wine for the second year running. Our other wines rated 90 points or above were as follows:

2015 Limited Release Saperavi SILVER (93)
2016 Tobacco Road Pinot Noir SILVER (92)
2017 Ballerina Canopy Sauv SILVER (91)
2017 Limited Release Petit Manseng SILVER (91)
2017 Valley Selection Riesling SILVER (90)
2016 Ballerina Canopy Cabernet Sauvignon SILVER (90) (Available online soon)

At the Rutherglen Wine Show, also held in September, our Tobacco Road 2017 Sangiovese Rose won the top Gold award, with Silver awards going to our Tobacco Road NV Prosecco and Limited Release 2017 Petit Manseng.

Another six of our wines picked up Bronze awards.

As of early October, all of the wines mentioned in this article excluding the 2016 Ballerina Canopy Cabernet Sauvignon are available to purchase, either online or at our Cellar Door.
