Gapsted Wines has released two new red wines, each with their own distinctive textures and aromas, with plenty of appeal to a broad array of tastes and food pairings.
Our Limited Release 2017 Heathcote Sangiovese is a medium bodied red crafted from grapes grown in one of Australia's premier wine regions.
Consistent with our Limited Release brand, the grapes for this delicious wine were sourced from a select parcel of land in Victoria's Heathcote region - an area that's renowned for its high quality reds.
Perfect with hard cheeses or a rich spaghetti bolognaise, this wine displays a deep crimson colour while the nose shows aromas of fragrant cherry, dried currant and savoury tobacco. These aromas lead to a medium-bodied palate with wild cherry and earthy notes, finishing with youthful acid and fine, long tannins.
It's a wine you can enjoy now, or safely cellar for around five years.
The latest addition to our High Country range of wines is a 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was created from select King Valley-grown grapes. Typical of Cabernet grapes grown at higher elevations, this wine delivers a full mouthfeel and soft, long finish.
This wine shows aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and hints of liquorice. These aromas lead to a palate that is impressively balanced, with spicy cinnamon, cedary notes and textured, grainy tannins.
This wine pairs well with blue vein cheese or, for the more adventurous, a dark ale kangaroo pie.
This wine is ready to drink now, or you can cellar it for up to six years.
