97 POINTS - 2022 Winestate Magazine’s Cabernet Challenge
95 POINTS - 2022 Winestate Magazine’s Wines of Victoria Wine Show
"It’s an easy wine to love but it’s a quality/structured one too. It boasts pure blackcurrant and liquorice, bay leaf and tobacco flavours, all wrapped in an appropriate embrace of resiny-vanillin oak. The important points are that the oak while clear does not overstep the mark; the fruit is as convincing as it is delicious; and the tannin has just enough assertion to really set the whole wine off." 93 points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
VINEYARD REGION: King Valley
THE WINE: This wine displays a dark, almost black red colour. The nose shows rich and complex aromas of brambleberry and earthy forest floor with hints of cinnamon, chocolate and oak. These aromas lead to a rich full flavoured palate of cassis and blackcurrant fruit. After 12 months ageing in American & French oak barrels, the finish has plenty of fruit weight and well rounded tannins.
PEAK DRINKING: Now - 2031
FOOD MATCH: Excellent with rosemary and thyme roasted lamb with wilted spinach.
