"Runs a fine cabernet tannin line throughout, an immediate and attractive feature that reveals not only the identity of the variety but also some sensitive winemaking. A tightly knit youngster bubbling (figuratively, of course) with blackberry, plum, nutmeg spice and earth enlivened with a ripple of tomato leafiness. Sweet-fruited, with blackberry richness and spice, enduring fine tannin structure and balanced, toasted oak. Long." SILVER - Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
"I tasted this in the midst of many other red wines and this is the one I wanted to drink. Which always says something. It’s curranty, a little dusty, has integrated chocolate notes and just feels and flows good. There’s a pucker of drying tannin but the juiciness of the fruit flows through it; this tannin would look far less pronounced in the company of food anyway. Thumbs up." BRONZE - 2020 Victorian Wine Show
VINEYARD REGION: King Valley
THE WINE: This wine displays a dark, almost black red colour. The nose shows rich and complex aromas of brambleberry and earthy forest floor with hints of cinnamon, chocolate and oak. These aromas lead to a rich full flavoured palate of cassis and blackcurrant fruit. After 17 months ageing in American & French oak barrels, the finish has plenty of fruit weight and well rounded tannins.
FOOD MATCHES: Excellent with rosemary and thyme roasted lamb with wilted spinach.
PEAK DRINKING: Now - 2030
WINE ANALYSIS: Alc/Vol 14.5% - PH 3.49 - TA 6.18
