"Grown in the Alpine and King Valleys in north-east Victoria. Wrap black licorice in leather, tie it with red licorice, then smother it with fragrant, dry herbs. This wine is all of rustic, fresh, rugged and softly spoken. You can either drink or partner up with it. It’s medium-weight but tannic; a handy combination." Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
VINEYARD REGION: Alpine Valleys
THE WINE: This wine displays a very deep purple/red colour. The nose shows complex aromas of spearmint, liquorice, spicy plum, star anise and blackcurrant. These aromas lead to a full bodied and textured wine with rich fleshy plum and fruitcake flavours, solid tannins and a long persistent juicy finish.
FOOD MATCHES: Excellent with Osso Bucco, chargrilled lamb backstrap or slow cooked lamb shanks.
PEAK DRINKING: Now-2031
