“This is a good, solid red. Sturdy, sweet-fruited, generously oaked. Toast and tar, chocolate and dust, blackberry. It will drink well over the next decade or more.” 92 points Campbell Mattinson www.winefront.com.au

Durif is a red grape variety originating in France and is a variety that North East Victoria is renowned for.
Deep and dark in colour with a purplish hue, Durifs typically show earthy characteristics that add an extra layer to bright berry and plum fruit. With big flavours and tannins, they are great partners for equally ‘big’ foods like steaks, roasts and stews.
Our award-winning Durif is estate grown on our vineyards in the Alpine Valleys. Its mouth-staining black fruit flavours with inky violet notes and hints of cedar and smoky liquorice are perfect with slow-cooked red meats and cheese. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 20-25 years.

Limited Release 2017 Saperavi
BRONZE MEDAL 2019 Rutherglen Wine Show
BRONZE MEDAL 2019 Victorian Wine Show

Saperavi is a red grape variety that originates in Georgia on the Black Sea, the birthplace of modern winemaking circa 5000BC.
Our Saperavi is estate grown on our vineyards in the Alpines Valleys and uniquely has pink flesh as well as skin, so does not need a lot of contact on skins to get the rich red colour.
An inky, deep red, almost opaque wine with huge body and texture. The palate reflects the bouquet; fruit driven with traces of peppery and savory characteristics. The structure and balance are precise, with medium acidity. The strong flavour and firm texture make it a perfect match with game dishes or hearty winter fare such as duck as well as paella and tapas.

Pinot Blanc is grown in Alsace, Northern Italy, Germany and Austria.  It’s in the Pinot Family of Pinot Noir (Black), Pinot Gris (Grey) and Pinot Blanc (White).  In German its’s called Weissburgunder, meaning White Burgundy.  It’s a subtle variety when young but can blossom into a very intense aromatic wine with some bottle age and having had some clever winemaking.
Our fruit was picked ripe to give the wine a full, opulent palate. The nose displays varietal apple and pear compote aromas along with hints of stone fruit and oral notes. The palate is deep, restrained, yet complex and long. Pairs beautifully with Mediterranean vegetable paella or pork cutlets baked with apple, fennel and new potatoes with a butter and mustard gravy. A great alternative to Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.

Limited Release 2019 Fiano
GOLD MEDAL 2019 North East Victorian Wine Challenge

Fiano is a southern Italian variety that has the weight and intensity of Chardonnay, with a totally different flavour profile: pine nuts, starfruit, tarragon.  It’s thought to be the same wine as the Roman Apiana.  The name is believed to be derived from the Latin name for bees, possibly because the grapes attract Apian insects.  It is very expressive as a fruit dominant style, but it equally takes oak and lees works.  A star in the making.
Our Fiano is no exception. Sourced from John Cavedon’s vineyards in the King Valley, we’ve produced a beautifully fragrant Italian white wine, showing a unique combination of fresh lime, honeysuckle, nectarine and subtle tropical fruit. These aromas lead to a textural and lively palate with hints of stonefruit, lychee and fragrant spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Try it with gingered chicken and Caesar salad, or fresh seafood such as crayfish with crispy salad.

“Unanimously the wine of the tasting. What a wine- bloody brilliant - uber smooth, rich, tasty, perfectly balanced – SENSATIONAL.” Dan Traucki, Wine Writer, Sparkling Red Tasting, July 2019

This gorgeous red sparkling wine is made in a young fresh style as opposed to our more robust Saperavi table wine. We are the only winery (that we know of) in Australia to make a sparkling Saperavi commercially.
We made it into a sparkling 10 years ago as its fine tannins and spicy, peppery characters and intense colour make it perfect for the style, and it’s been one of our most sought-after wines ever since. It is the perfect Christmas wine…or any celebration wine…as it goes really well with food such as pork, roast turkey, duck, beef, plum pudding.

Limited Release NV Sparkling Pinot Grigio Rose
BRONZE MEDAL 2019 North East Victorian Wine Challenge

For years we have mooted the idea of a sparkling Pinot Grigio Rosé.  Naturally blush, we felt the delicate acidity of such a wine would be ideally suited to this sometimes-tricky sparkling wine style.  As it so happened, this year the stars aligned and we collectively embraced the idea of a Sparkling Pinot Grigio Rosé.  We are delighted with the wine, thinking it’s an ideal warmer weather tipple, having an extra degree of finesse and levity that makes this wine moreish in every way.
This is an engaging and zesty wine with lovely strawberry, forest fruit and red current flavours, delicious with chocolate covered strawberries or a chicken risotto.
