VINEYARD REGION: King Valley
THE WINE: This wine shows the typical deep red garnet hues of youth. The nose displays the cool climate origins of the fruit with blackberry and pepper aromas, interwoven with spicy cinnamon and subtle vanillin oak. These aromas follow through to the spicy, peppery palate. The wine was matured for 12 months in American oak barrels, and has the tannin and fruit structure to age gracefully in bottle for up to eight years from vintage.
FOOD MATCHES: Oven-baked eggplant stuffed with tomato, parsley and fried onion also excellent with roasted venison, with beetroot and balsamic glaze.
