"Medium to full tawny-russet colour, reflecting evident wood-age. The bouquet has red fruits and ironstone, ferrous notes. The prune-like fruit is still quite evident. The spirit seems very neutral. The back-palate has plenty of sweetness and this is dried off to some degree by quite definite tannin on the finish. (Blended from various regions. Average age: 12 years)"

THE WINE: This wine displays a classic tawny colour. The nose shows rich stewed fruit aromas with a hint of citrus and spice. The palate is full of rich complex flavours with hints of citrus peel, crushed walnuts and toasty vanilla bean. A fortified offering beautifully balanced fruit and oak tannin with a warm lingering finish.
FOOD MATCHES: Excellent with quince paste, a wide variety of cheeses - including soft rind, Cheddar, blue, goats and ricotta, and with nuts such as pistachios, walnuts, almonds and brazil nuts.
